"Celebrating Freedom and Honoring our U.S. Armed Forces". The Springtown War Memorial Association (SWMA) is a Non-Profit 501c3 organization. It is composed of various members of the Springtown, Texas area including veteran's, the Mayor, area clergy, and U.S. Armed Forces family members.
We are raising funds which will be used to build a War Memorial in the Springtown Park. The purpose of the proposed War Memorial is to honor, recognize, and forever remember those who have given their lives, who are currently serving, and veterans who have served our country in the U. S. Military. SWMA helps the Springtown, Texas community and surrounding areas to observe both Memorial and Veteran's day by organizing public events.
Committee meetings are held on the 1st Monday of each month beginning at 6:30 pm at City Hall, 102, E. 2nd Street, Springtown, Texas. Visitors are welcome to attend.
SWMA's "ALL AMERICAN FAIR " fundraiser was held Saturday, June 12th, 2010 at the tabernacle in historic downtown Springtown, Texas. Fairgoers enjoyed live entertainment on the stage throughout the day from The Glory Land Boys, The Texas Wildflower Cloggers and "Posie" the Clown as well as a hot dog eating contest. Also enjoyed were the children's area, patriotic photos, food, drink and booths with plenty of entertainment, activities and shopping for every age group. The nation's only traveling working Liberty Bell (http://www.proclaimliberty.us/) owned by David Hall was displayed during the fair.
